About Me
Hi! Nice to meet you! My name is Kate Ellis, and I have the privilege to experience Tier Two of the MedEx Academy this summer between my freshman and sophomore year of university! I attend Clemson University, and I enjoy playing tennis and my viola in my free time! I discovered my interest In medicine during my seventh-grade science class focused on anatomy! As time went on, I grew more and more passionate about the medical field through being able to shadow my aunt, an OBGYN, in eighth grade, and even more so during my sophomore year of high school when my dad was diagnosed with Stage 3 C colon cancer, and I discovered how much I wanted to make an impact in the life of patients diagnosed with cancer, and become a part of trying to advance medicine in order to eventually cure sicknesses such as cancer. I am currently majoring in genetics in college, and I hope to eventually attend medical school and become a pathologist! Join me on my journey through this tier!
