MedEx Day 17

Today was a Juneteenth celebration with MedEx, and it was so fun! During the week, it is hard to find time to just have fun with everyone and get to know them, and today we had the opportunity! It was so fun to be able to participate and cheer on others in games associated with teamwork such as volleyball (which I am unfortunately very bad at), and just talk to each other over lunch! We also were able to play fun card games with each other, and I was able to talk more to people I may have only been able to talk to once this tier, which was amazing! It may have been hot, but we did not run short out of memories as our volleyball ran into the river, and one of our tier members bravely took off her shoes and went in after the ball that was moving down the river. It wasn't even hers, but I was inspired by how she went in after it without a second thought, even though the river was at the bottom of a small, rocky cliff. I had no idea that she had that type of spirit, and I truly wish I was that confident! I also was able to talk to more of the Tier Four participants and experience who they are outside of the MedEx atmosphere, and it was so fun! I not only got to play volleyball on the other side of the net against them, but I also got to talk to them as they go through the stage of applying to medical school, which is super helpful to me as it is something I will be going through at some point too! Overall, it was a fun day of being able to connect and get closer to my tier mates and the MedEx family!
